Get Started
While Graham Hart is building your new home, you will participate by taking care of several very important aspects of the purchase. The chronological list below outlines the activities that typically take place in the purchase of a new home. Please check with your Community Selling Manager for specific requirements.
Click on any of the headings to see detailed information for a particular category.
Beginning
Choose your future home site and floor plan. Write and agreement and make your First Payment. Within 14 days your Second Payment will be due. All payments will go toward the total move in cost.
Loan Application
Complete a loan application with a mortgage lender to process all necessary paperwork and receive a pre qualification letter. If you don’t currently have a loan officer, please take a look at our Preferred Partner list for a recommendation.
Selections
Select items such as colors of paint, carpet, tile and brick. It is important to make these decisions in advance of construction. Once the home is in progress, it is difficult to make changes. You will make a Selections Payment equal to 25% of your total selections
Construction
We expect, and welcome, your visits while your new home is under construction. However, please coordinate all of your visits through your Community Selling Manager. This is for the safety of you and your family. Any concerns or questions about the construction of your new home should be directed to your Community Selling Manager or Building Manager. Throughout the building process, it is important for you to periodically communicate with your Community Selling Manager, mortgage loan officer, and the title company.
Closing
The closing will take place shortly after the final walk through. Graham Hart will determine the closing date and notify you. Once the date has been determined, you will notify the mortgage lender and schedule a closing appointment with the title company.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Graham Hart realizes how important it is to meet the projected closing date. We fully understand that coordinating lease cancellations, move out dates, moving companies, and personal schedules is challenging. We promise to work very hard to meet the closing date targeted.
